We are excited to announce the change in our identity, but otherwise the continuation and expansion of our activities.
What’s Changing?
Our identity is being updated to better reflect our evolution and future expansion.
What’s Staying the Same?
Our core goals and visions remain unchanged, and we continue close cooperation with WSAVA. We just have a new name and extended vision and mission.
VISION
To broaden access to, and quality of, veterinary care in areas of greatest need, including disaster relief, which improves the interconnected health and wellbeing of animals and people and their environment.
MISSION
To build upon existing efforts and drive collaboration among likeminded stakeholders to increase knowledge, capabilities and resources that drive ongoing improvements in the delivery of veterinary care.
As the umbrella organization for companion animal veterinarians globally, the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) established a Foundation in 2011. Since then, our mission has been to improve global companion animal care through science and education.
As a not-for-profit, the WSAVA Foundation funds select scientific, educational, and training projects that will be delivered by clinical and laboratory specialists for the benefit of practicing veterinarians around the globe. By doing so, we hope to achieve our ultimate goal of raising the level of patient care for companion animals worldwide.
The WSAVA Foundation is supporting Mission Rabies, a project launched by the Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS). Starting in India, the initiative aims to make a difference in the lives of people and dogs in the world’s hot spots for the disease.
Led by the WSAVA Foundation, the African Small Companion Animal Network (AFSCAN) is a groundbreaking project focused on supporting small animal veterinarians across Africa. This program seeks to advance the veterinary profession across the continent in a sustainable way.
Get ready to join your colleagues from all around the world by taking part in an exhilarating run or walk in Lisbon to raise funds for the WSAVA Foundation. It does not matter whether you are an avid runner or have no experience at all – everyone is welcome. The 9th Fun(d) Run will take place on 29 September 2023 in Lisbon, during the 48th WSAVA World Congress. Don’t miss it! If you are not layer to run, you can walk 3 km.
